Alarming Footage Captures Moment Police Are Stabbed in Surprise Attack

Both Sergeants Moments Before the Attacker Received Electric Shock

One senior officer that leaped to the help of a fellow officer who was ambushed by a knife attacker has been awarded the Monarch's Honor for Bravery.

Sergeant Tim Ansell grappled with twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown after he held a blade to the neck of his colleague Sergeant Marc Foster.

Brown launched his attack as the officers and their colleague, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a motorist after a traffic accident in the area in July 2023.

Brown stabbed and slashed both Sgt Ansell and Sergeant Foster before Police Constable Wolstencroft stopped him with a stun gun.

"Officer stabbed," PC Wolstencroft was heard to say over his communication device.

Officer-mounted and dashboard camera footage shared by the force revealed Brown, who was dressed in black with a head covered, approach to Sergeant Foster from behind with a knife pointed forward.

He struck the officer who lost balance and fell to the pavement, after which Sergeant Ansell intervened and struggled to restrain him to the pavement even though being repeatedly struck with the blade.

PC Wolstencroft Stopped the Attacker, Jacob Brown, with a Stun Gun

Police Constable Wolstencroft drew his Taser and waited for a clear shot, ending the struggle to an end.

Sergeant Ansell can be heard to say: "Please provide something on my neck here, I got knifed in the throat."

Sergeant Ansell received multiple deep cuts to his neck and additional cuts to his arms and body, while Sgt Foster suffered slash wounds.

Officials said Sgt Foster utilized his palms to stop his partner's hemorrhaging before emergency responders reached the scene.

The new award arrives subsequent to the three officers were granted departmental Courage Honors in October 2023 and the prestigious bravery honor from the regional officer association in April 2024.

They further earned a Area Courage Honor in mid-2024.

"The actions of all three officers in the end protected each other and ensured no members of the public experienced any injuries."

Brown received a sentence to an psychiatric detention in early 2024, per authorities.
